How to choose a suitable LED display screen cabinets

The quality and performance of LED display screens are directly affected by the process design of the LED display cabinets. When selecting LED displays, the LED display box is an important evaluation factor and deserves careful comparison.

At present, there are three main types of LED display screen enclosures: die cast aluminum enclosures, nano polymer material enclosures, and carbon fiber enclosures. In market applications, they each have their own advantages and need further improvement. The die cast aluminum box is formed in one go using a mold, ensuring better flatness and effectively controlling the tolerance range, basically solving the problem of box joint; The nano polymer material box has the characteristics of shock and drop resistance; Carbon fiber enclosure is a newly emerging technology that appears more lightweight compared to traditional products, and can solve the problem of LED display screens being unable to be installed in some venues due to load and rigging limitations.

The equipment for outdoor LED display screens includes outdoor LED display screen enclosures and LED display screen module units. With the continuous expansion of market demand, customers have also put forward more diversified and personalized requirements for LED display equipment. The selection of LED display box is related to the overall quality of the display screen.

How to choose a suitable LED display box?

The heat dissipation issue is a key factor affecting the stability and decay rate of LEDs. Because high temperatures can rapidly increase the probability of electronic component failure. In order to ensure that it does not exceed the maximum allowable temperature specified in the working environment, it is necessary to design heat dissipation for the LED display screen.

When choosing a heat dissipation method, factors such as heat flux density, volumetric power density, total power consumption, surface area, volume, and working environment conditions (temperature, humidity, air pressure, dust) of the LED display screen should be considered. Outdoor fixed installation screens often use forced air cooling to dissipate heat.

With the decrease in power consumption of LED displays, more and more users are installing LED displays outdoors without any additional auxiliary heat dissipation measures due to the limitations of the installation location. For LED screens, the only way to dissipate heat is through natural cooling, which has poor heat dissipation capabilities. Therefore, the heat dissipation design of the LED display box is crucial. Considering the reliability and maintenance cost of the display box, using a fan for forced convection cooling is a better way to dissipate heat.

When designing the LED display box, it is necessary to consider thoroughly: the air inlet should be set on the lower side of the box, but not too low, to prevent dirt and water from entering the box installed on the ground. Special exhaust holes should be used, located on the upper side near the box. Cooling air should flow through the heating electronic components while preventing airflow short circuits. During design, it is necessary to ensure that the intake and exhaust ports are kept away from each other to avoid reusing cooling air. Electronic components such as switch power supplies that generate significant heat should be placed as close as possible to the air inlet.

The heat dissipation design of the module inside the box cannot be ignored. When placing heat generating components on a PCB board, efforts should be made to evenly distribute their heat, and components that generate a lot of heat should not be concentrated in any part of the PCB board.
